CSAS – About us

CSAS – Centro di Studi Africani in Sardegna (Center for African Studies in Sardinia) is a not-for-profit association established in Sardinia in June 2005 by a group of scholars of the University of Cagliari. CSAS’ main aim is the dissemination of knowledge of African history and culture – covering both Northern and Subsaharan Africa.

CSAS’ activities along the years have been mainly directed to the academic world, with the organization of conferences, seminars, roundtables and debates. In 2010, CSAS launched a parallel project, AFFRICA, a website aimed at raising the profile of African issues also among the general public, and at promoting events and books related to Africa.
